October 2018 Monthly Bulletin
To my Brother Knights & Council Family,
As we launching our council monthly bulletin, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you all to the Father Gabriel Council for our 2018-2019 year. I welcome those brothers who through their long years of service to the Knights of Columbus have attained HONORARY & HONORARY LIFE status, and those of you who never show up and help us building, faith, catholic family, church and community. I promise you will not be disappointed with all the exciting changes that have occurred over the past year and all that we have scheduled for the new Council year.
The achievements could not have happened without the help of some very few dedicated members. All of you brothers who have been away, I ask you to come back and see what we are doing and help us with our charity work helping our church and community. With your help we can accomplish so much more.
I would like to thank those active members who have been helping around the Hall and the Church. Again I am counting on your support in the upcoming year to continue to further improve your Council and embrace the activities with Our Lady of Lourdes Church and School.
Your involvement has a direct impact on your Council’s success. For those who have been away, here are just a few things that happened in the past years.
The Lounge / full Bar is open each Fridays from 5:00 to 11:00 and from our kitchen we serve dinners from 5:30 to 8:00. Come with your family, your friends, neighbors and join us for Family social nights, successful parties such as the Chili Cook-off, Sock Hop, Luau, St. Patrick’s Day Party, Kentucky Derby Party, Italian Night and Karaoke one trivia pursue a month.
With a new energy going through your Council, I encourage you to be part of it so that we can continue to grow and continue to help our community. Your input is vital. We respect your ideas. Even as a passive participant, your presence is noted and important to your Council. We seek your input to help make the Council a success and a Family Safe and friendly environment. You are a desperately needed resource to your Council, your Church and your Community.
Our meetings are held at 7:00 P.M. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month at the Council Hall at 2150 Dairy Rd. I look forward to seeing all of our members. Please feel free to contact me at (321-243-3060); (my phone or text), or text Chancellor Dave DeFinoat (818-943-4290). Your ideas and /or concerns will be respectfully addressed.

Matthew 5:42 New American Bible (Revised Edition) (NABRE)
Give to the one who asks of you, and do not turn your back on one who wants to borrow.
This is just a reminder of the smallest but most effective virtue of a Christian. To give without condition. This describes love. This describes Christ. This describes Fr. Michael J. McGivney. This describes a priest.
As Catholics we are the common priesthood of the faithful.
This is also who we are as Knights of Columbus following in the footsteps of Christ with Fr. McGivney as our example.
